Spindle vs. lift? 2wd F150
So after doing a bunch of research on what lift kit, tires, wheels, and talking to a few shops, one random shop tells me he would recommend a spindle lift? For my 2015 2wd 2.7 F150.
I cant find much information on the spindle lift as I’m not well versed in all the lingo and what goes on down there. One thing I did read is that it would push the tires out more... would they be out further than my back tires?
looking for any information on one vs. the other! I’d love to go with a BDS suspension lift but if that’s useless for my 2wd and I can save money going the spindle route, might as well.

Trying to figure it out!
I don't know why the spindle lift would push the tires out. Basically the factory spindle comes off and the new one goes on. It is the same dimensions except it has been made taller to gain the extra height.
Not sure if they even make them for the 2wd,

While I'm not super-familiar with spindle lifts, I do know that this company (see link below) is one of the most popular and there a definitely a few trucks on this forum that run them. The description seems to say that the front may be wider by 1/2" on each side. Doesn't sound like much.

Majority of all lift spindles are for a 2WD.
Not sure who makes a 4WD lift spindle because of the CV's.
Lots of companies make F150 lift spindles.
We did at one time but we discontinued it.

I guess I should start here... I don’t care how much more an actual lift kit costs, I don’t want my front tires sticking out further than my back haha.

Any spindle lift will make the front tires stick out further than stock. There are clearance issues with the UCA/balljoint if im not mistaken by making the spindle taller but not accounting for the wheel and tire. You can easily even out the track width with a small spacer for the rear. 1/2" with factory wheels will place the tire right at or just past the factory fender, IMO giving it a more aesthetic look with the increase in height. If you go with aftermarket wheels, your stance will be increased anyway unless you get factory backspacing.
You also gain more ground clearance with just a spindle lift as drop bracketry for the LCA is not utilized like those on the BDS/RC/etc.

In the end it'll come down what your overall goal is and how much you want to spend.
The plus side of a lift spindle is that it rides like stock for an inexpensive price.
A drop bracket lift kit tends to ride rough unless you upgrade your stock struts to a set of decent Coilovers.
Going that route can add up quick.

This one happens to be a 6" BDS lift(current gen F150 4wd), and you can see the spindles. This particular one uses Fox extendo-CO's as opposed to spacers, but the spindles, crossmembers, and drop brackets are pretty much standard across the board
Maybe what I know of as 'spindles', are known by another name in other parts of the country.
I dunno...'Steering Knuckles'?
