Default Mud in Bead?

I just recently went mudding and when i got home alot of air was leaking form the bead. It was flat the next day, Took it to tire shop and they said mud or dirt got in the bead and thats why it was leaking. Is this possible? If yes any suggestions on preventing it from happening again?

From my experience, yes it is very possible and more common than you think. As for preventing it from happening again, the only thing I can think of would be Bead Locks and I am not sure that would totally stop it, but I would think it would help. Personally, I just live with it, if it happens it happens if not, then awesome. I chalk it up as a possible hazard to playing in the mud.

100% yes. How low did you air down? I was around 20 25 psi when I packed my beads full of sandy mud.

this happened to my spare tire, it was off the bead, got some dirt on it, when I trued to fill it back up and pop the tire back onto the bead it wouldnt stop leaking, also was splitting on the side wall so I went and got a brand new looking used tire mounted and balanced for $30

What I meant was what was your operating pressure at the time you went off road? I had aired down to that pressure when I was on the trails. That led to mud getting in a lot easier.
