Default Lifting Help Please

Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a 2004 Ford F-150 FX4, 5.4 truck. It's my first 4x4 vehicle. I will be using it as my daily driver but would like to eventually get it to the point that it's well equipped to handle off road on the weekends. I figured the best place to start is with the suspension and tires.

I originally was thinking about installing the Bilstein B8 6112 kit and Pro Comp 285 / 70R 17 MT2 tires but now I'm thinking that I could probably just spend a bit more and get a bit more lift. I'm just not sure how much lift I want. I definitely don't want more than 4in especially because it will be my daily driver. Id perfer to be able to enter most building garages. Im thinking that 3in might be the golden number for me. I just wanted to see what others have done with similar trucks in this situation and what my best setup would be. Any help is greatly appreciated.
