Hard Rock Off Road Park Ocala Trip

Looks fun! I used to hit mud like that on my quads in Maine. Been a few years though.
Lol, thats how my truck looked on Friday just from towing my travel trailer down a BLM road in Moab.

I'm trying to get a few local Fort Woth/Dallas guys rounded up and head out to a local place this weekend. Saturday we are 100% chance of rain, heavy in the AM. Sunday it should be nice and muddy! Hoping to get out Sunday around 10 AM, hit the trails for a few hours. Not the type of mud as in this thread, more clay, and a lot of rocks to go over, but fun none the less! I'm gonna try a steep hill with some decent sized rocks, see if 4L can make it up. My wife thinks it is too steep. I say, only 1 way to find out!.

You should be able to make it up just about any hill, even in 4Hi. These trucks have pretty awesome low-end torque. I'd be surprised if you wind up needing 4Lo. Me and my buddies can blast up this hill at Hard Rock in full-size trucks without much problem. I think it's just over 30 degrees incline. Traction has been more of an issue than power... prepare to spin those tires!

Awesome, have a great time! Take lots of pics, and let us know how it goes. Sounds like fun.

My wife thinks between the hill and rocks all over it, it'd be tough. I wanna try it tho. Worst case, back up to go back down, lol. It is only about 15 feet up, to a small plateau, and 2 other ways down. One has way to large of rocks, and is skinny, like for a jeep. The other I already went up, a little spin, but not much.

Jeepers, I would crap my pants going up that! lol. So, when you get to the top, straight up in the pic, how close to bottoming out are you? I am stock height, just a stock 2 inch level kit on front, and some Toyo AT II's.

I'm on a 6" lift with 37" tires, so I'm OK on clearance, but even my buddies who have late-model GMC Canyons and Toyota 4Runners with smaller lifts did OK. Most of their clearance issues were with departure angles... when approaching and starting to go up a steep hill their rear bumpers or receiver hitches might drag on the ground a little.
BTW, no harm in backing right back down the hill in reverse. I've done it many, many times if things don't look promising. It's always better to be safe!
Even this relatively chill hill had some of them scrape their hitches on the approach, but other than that, no one had any issues:
