Front Shocks for 17 2.7 SCab
Hey yall,
I drive a 2017 2.7l SCab. I'm looking to upgrade my front coilovers to something more robust and able to handle all terrain. I have no lift kit installed, but do have a front leveling kit installed which I plan on removing when I upgrade the shocks. I have some Bilstein 5160's on the back and was looking at the 6112's for the front, but it turns out they are not compatible. My truck is much too light for the coil.
So I have a couple questions for anyone with experience on this.
1. Would my light truck feel that abnormally stiff on the normal 6112 coils? Or does the weight difference bring more serious concerns?
2. Is there another option I should look at that is truly compatible with a 2.7 SCab?
I don't do a ton of off-roading, but I love the feel the 5160's made.
Thanks for the advice and help!

I mean, I assume that would work and definitely make the ride feel better. It sounds stupid typing this, but I'd rather spend more money and replace the coil too, despite my lack of true need for it.
I've seen posts about the inferior quality of the OEM shocks, but does that carry over to the spring as well?

Not sure if you mean quality as in long lasting or ride quality, but it's pretty rare that springs fail. I think the 5100's would probably give you exactly what you're looking for. It'll improve the factory ride with a bit of level. If you're not doing any serious off roading, why sacrifice ride quality and money just to have a new spring as well?

There is quite a selection of coilover upgrades in a variety of shock body sizes and options. Hard to beat the 6112's pricepoint for a large diameter shock and Shock Surplus lists 2015-2019 2WD and 4WD 6112's. KM
