Bad CV angles with leveling kits?

Question for you guys with different leveling kits in your truck, how many of you have worn out the CV joint on your front axels “prematurely”?

I’ve had an Icon Stage 2 kit in my truck for about 2 years now and so far I haven’t had any issues, at least that I know of. That being said, I made a video a while back talking about my suspension kit and I’ve seen a lot more comments lately talking about leveling kits jacking up suspension geometry, blah blah blah. I understand why a suspension lift with a differential drop down bracket would be better, at least for driveline angles, but I’m curious given the popularity of leveling kits, how many of you have actually had any issue with CV angles?

I have a 2017 with a 2.5" level on puck. Got 30k miles on so far no problem.

Unless you spend a lot of time in 4WD you will not wear out your CV shaft.. What you will wear out is Ball joints upper and lower.

15k miles on my Icon Stage 2s set at about 2 inches, and working like a dream.

I was thinking about all this also before I did my level, and all of the off-road mechanic guys that I talked to said that at 2.5 inches or lower, they had not seen any issues.

45,000+ on my 2.5" level and not an issue.

Agree
Most of the time in RWD. Front shaft doesn't even spin at all.

When i did my fox coilovers i did the same research and came up with nothing. I assume its because many f150 owners do the level and not have issues. Otherwise the forums would be plastered with issues from levelling.

FWIW that is how I see it BUT I also worry cause too many "men" tend to stand behind their mistakes out of foolish pride rather than admit they made an unforced error and shouldve done something differently. And make no mistake, the people who manufacture, market and sell this stuff have EVERYTHING to gain by telling you "no problems at all". From looking closely at several 2019's with 1.5, 2 and 2.5" levels (both pucks and coilovers) I will say that I wouldnt go any more than 2" without going to UCA's and drop brackets. 2" will get 34's even on stockers with no rub.

With a tape measure and an angle finder it should be fairly easy to figure out if you'll still be within specs.

yes men can really have a hard time swallowing pride. but having said that numerous shops and companies have 2” kits for the f150 yet no one complains about them. Now ford is offering from the dealer fox 2.0 stage 1 levelling kits “tuned by ford” so i’d say thats fords stamp of approval right there.

I now have 50k km with no problems on my 2” fox level.
