Unhappy Why the thumpin' ??

06 F-150 XLT SUPERCREW. The stock bfg's are finally done, truck only 74,000 k's,got Nittos. Terra Grapplers, did my homework, like the tires, less than 700 k's on them. Outside temp here average 0-10 Celsius nowadays. In the morning, on the highway, tires feel un-rotated. 10 minutes later, thumping gone. Kal-Tire says no prob with tires. They're E rated, 285/65/18's. Noticed the thumping as soon as tires installed. Kal-tire has re-rotated and re-torqued trying to tell me to pay $50.00 and they will get me Michellin ltx, I presume. Their shop equipment looks dated and very basic. Anyone else have probs with cold e-rated Terra Grapplers??? Any info/advice would be much appreciated. Got to do deal with it by 25th of Feb. Thanks

Had the "cold weather thump" on plenty of tires. Nothing to worry about.
The tires get stiff when they get cold. There are flat spots where they meet the road. Once you get a little heat in them the thump goes away.

Had a set of bias-ply swampers on an old truck once. They felt like driving over speed bumps untill they got some heat in them.

Default Much appreciated......

Thank u for the prompt replies. I very much want to keep the Nittos, the tire rep guy at Kal Tire was way rude going as far as to say he'd never heard of such a thing, making me feel like I was bsing him. His only solution is to get some Michellins and pay an extra charge for installing them!!! Can u beleive it? (probably) before the $1400 I plunked down they were sweet afterward .....u know what. To top it off,I got the feeling that just cause I'm a female they figured I didn't know ---- about tires. I reckon, after I was done, I knew more than at least half the reps there. Kal-Tire, Victoria,B.C., Canada has done me wrong again!!!!Tommorow I got to deal with it.
