Default What should I do?

I have Dick Cepek DC1's on my truck in the 17x9 variety. I ordered them on 2/23/10, not quite a year ago. Recently I have noticed the clear coat is coming off around the bolts on the outermost part of the rim. After some research I find this is a common problem, the kicker is they are discontinued.

I call Tire Rack, and after sending pictures they will warranty the wheels, and give me the price I payed for them. The kicker is I must purchase another set of any wheel from tire rack, and I have to pay shipping for wheels both ways.

I know the DC2's are nearly the same wheel, but I'm not sold on the huge black center cap. I'm not sure what to do.

I have kicked around the idea of drawing some rings up and having the manufactured here close, but this will only cover up the problem. From here I would be scared the clear coat would only get worse.

I could also possibly have the wheels powder coated, but I'm not educated on the process and whether they could remove clear coat and put some sort of clear powder coat finish.

Or I can send them back and pay for some new ones plus shipping two ways.

What do you guys think? I feel like I'm always working on this dang truck just to add.. Just finished replacing cam phasers, next on list is fixing my IWE problem, wheels, and the warped passenger side exhaust manifold.

get the dc2 wheels. they made them without all the bolts around to edge for that reason. I think they look great with the black centre cap.

Just noticed mine is doing the same thing. I'm going to have mine eventually sandblasted and then powder coated, maybe to match the truck.
