Default Tire size help

Hey all, I am in need of some help. I am looking to get bigger tires to make my truck sit higher (the wife doesn't want me to lift it). Don't have the funds right now to get rims either, so I will sticking with the stock rims as well.

I have a 2010 f150- xlt. Currently on the truck is 255/65/17.

I am confused on how to figure out the whole offset calculations to find out exactly how big I can go with there to be no rubbing.

A local seller has LT245/75/17's for sale. Would those fit without rubbing?

Or could someone let me know what is the "tallest" tire I can get without any rubbing?

Thank you all for the assistance!

245/75/17 would be smaller than what you have. You should be able to fit a 265/70/17(32") no problem. Haven't been around the 2010's to much but I know the stock 18's run a 275/70/17(I think) and they come from the factory with that size.

Well I have the stock 17's on my truck not the 18's. My truck tires from the ground to the top of the tire sit at 28.5 inches. I asked the guy to measure the distance from the ground to the top of the tire and the 245/75/17's sit at 31.5 inches.

If i am reading correctly the 1st number is the distance across the tread. The 2nd number is from the bead to the top of the tire. Is this correct?

Sorry I misread, I thought you had 255/75/17. Yes you are correct, the first is the width, the second is the side wall for instance the 75 is 75% of the width.
