I want these tires. My installer has mentioned he knows someone with them and he says they suck in snow and rain. Anyone with more input please.

judging by those pictures I would agree they would not perform well in rain or snow. The tread doesn't appear to have any siping, the small lines cut into tread, which increases rain and snow traction. Also, the tread does not have a channel pattern to disperse the rain. In order to move the rain away from the contact point, the tire needs a channel that runs the radius.

they would probably perform great in deep snow or mud though.

I just bought a set of the new Axiom in 285/70-18. Pretty quiet, not a terrible amount of weight needed to balance them. Running them on a set of ProComp rims. Haven't run them in bad weather yet (in fact, I just parked it at the airport in MD and will be gone for the snow that is happening there the next 24 hours).

They were $599 to my door. I didn't really see a lot of options for $600. Was looking at Toyo's on 17's but that was roughly $1600. With the ProComp rims and Treadwrights, I came in just about $1200 + $150 to move my TPMS from the factory rims and mount/balance these.

People are really buying remolded tires? What the hell? Why would you cheap out on tires?

I purchased some 295/60r20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, I would recommend. I think they have a pretty aggressive look similar to mud terrain but they are just a tad louder than the stock tires. So far I'm really happy.

This past weekend I had a nail in the sidewall of one of my stock Goodyear Fortitudes and a nail in the tread of another. Lots of new house construction in my neighborhood. I guess they were roofing nails. So I just went ahead and got an all new set of the Cooper Discoverer ATPs in SL load range and stock size 275/65/R18. I've had those Coopers on my work truck for the last 9 months and 10K miles. They are an excellent tire. The AT tread is just a tad stiffer than stock, but definitely helped a lot with rear end jump. Not any louder than the stock tires. I would definitely recommend these Coopers if you want to stay with an AT tire in an SL load range.

Default Tire review

Figured I would add my tire review. These are Motomaster Total Terrain AT2's. Made in the USA by Cooper. Sold by Canadian Tire in Canada Land. Decent looking tire. The size is 265/70r17. Load range E. They were on sale for $160 per tire. Regular price was $230 a tire I believe.

I have these on my 2006 F150 single cab 2WD. They are great in the mucky sand/clay yard at work, great in the snow and on wet surfaces. Having a 2wd with worn tires I was spinning all over the place and I could easily get stuck in the smallest bit of mud or snow. Especially at work where the yard is mostly sand with some clay so when it rains it gets MUCKY!! After I put these tires on I actually get good traction through the yard.

My driving consists of 10km of gravel road daily, and 90km of hiway daily with the ocaisional drive through the city. I can't comment on tread wear yet as I've only had them for 4 months (10,000km). But as you can see in the second picture they still look brand new.

I just orderd these. All of the reviews have been great but the only thing I haven't heard about was treadwear. How are yours holding up?
