Default Tire Problem Question

Today i noticed on my tires pieces of the sidewall are missing. So i went to discount tire to have them look and he said from the extreme heat we've been in. It can cause pieces of the tire to fall off. Is that true at all. Cause even though i have the replacement warranty he wont honor it cause of this. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I've found Discount Tire very good. Wouldn't your manufacturer's warranty cover this?

They are still under the manufacture 50,000 mile warranty but they will prorate them at $78 a tire credit towards new.
