Rim Compatibility
I have a 2011 FX4 Screw with the factory 20' and Pirelli Scorpions.
Having read the various reviews of the Scorpions on this forum I'm not sure of the usefulness of them here in Southern Ontario in the winter.
Lacking any meaningful amount of snow thus far this year I haven't had an opportunity to find out for myself. Actually, it hasn't even been that cold either so I can't report on the flat spotting issue either.
I want to keep the stock set up for summer and try to snag a set of takeoffs from an 09-11 F150 to mount proper winter tires on should the need arise. One reason being to keep the stock rims as nice as possible, the other because 17 and 18" snow tires are bound to be cheaper than 20's. Will any 09-11 F150 17 or 18" rim fit without issues regardless of 2WD or 4WD? I'm thinking it should be pretty much bolt on but I've been wrong before.
I know where I can get a set of 09 XLT 17" takeoffs with 235/70-17's on them with tpms. Assuming good condition (I haven't seen them yet) approximately what would the rims be worth as I have no interest in the rubber. Also, will the tpms sensors work plug and play or will the truck computer have to be paired with the new sensors every time I switch back and forth?.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to Everyone!
