Default Replacement tires

My son has a 2011 F150 4 x 4 Super Crew. I'm researching replacement tires for him. I've gone through several pages here looking for a thread and used the search function but nothing is coming up.

The OEM tires are Goodyear Wranglers, but he's not keen on straight replacement of those. His driving is mostly highway, but occasional unimproved back roads to get to a good paddling site. Over the years I have had good results from Michelin tires, and in my research Michelin LTX M/S2 seem to be reasonable to consider.

I'd appreciate opinions about these tires or alternatives. Thanks.

Could go with a BF Goodrich All Terrain or their Rugged Terrain. There are a lot of tires out there that are great on the highway but still offer some control in off-road situations.

Put these on my truck a few month's ago...P275x60x20 Toyo AT2's...lightweight tires but still offer decent offroad traction. Smooth on the highway without the big mileage and performance drop.

Thanks all for your thoughts and recommendations. I'll give him the information and let him make a decision.

Check out tirerack.com to get reviews on A/T's. They carry pretty much everything and have a lot of reviews for every tire.

Sorry I've taken so long to answer your question. He's got under 50,000 km on the Wranglers.
