Default Quesiton about valve stems

Can you transfer valve stems from one rim to another? Like if you were to buy a new set of rims but they came without valve stems, can you transfer them from your old ones?

Yea as long as they fit I recommend getting light truck stems from a parts store of tire shop...most rubber stems are only rated to 35lbs...light truck up to 80lbs...cheap upgrade and they look better and last longer. But at the tire shop I worked at we used a tool to pull the old ones out and replace with new. I'm sure you could get it done though.

No you can not transfer them, well it is probably possible but not a good idea. For how much they cost your better off replacing them. Switching them could cause leaks to develop around them. Be careful of tpms sensors, 2009+ have the sensor on the back of the valve stem ( one piece) 04-08 they are banded to the inside of the rim directly opposite the valve stem. If no tpms sensors I'd replace the stems to new. They are very cheap, and I've never heard of n e one transferring stems , not worth the potential head ache IMO.
