Offset differences between brands?
Hey guys, quick question. Let's say I'm comparing two of the same kind of wheel. Both wheels are the same size but are different brands. Is it possible that two wheels with the same sizes (20x9 -12) will not have the same stance on my truck?
I don't see how they could, but I am no wheel expert. Offset is a standard measurement on all wheels. I believe that offset and back spacing are all used to the same reference to help the customer pick what exactly they want. Now, different width will cause the wheel to sit differently (ie: 20x9 -12 offset vs 20x10 -12 offset).
What is causing you to ask this question? I do know some wheels locate the spokes differently to enhance the lip, but overall backspacing and offset will be correct when measured.

Also keep in mind the person entering their info might not know what they have . I have seen many guys misrepresent their wheel and tires specs. Most often it is inadvertently done, but it happens a lot. Especially when converting metric tire sizes.
