Leveling kit and tires?
Hello all. I am thinking about doing a 3” leveling kit to my 19 f150. I do not know much about getting a leveling kit done and if I should change tire size.
I am wanting the truck to look good, but still have a smooth ride. The stock tires are 275/55R20
With that being said, if I get a 3” level kit will 33 inch tire be okay or too aggressive? Or do I keep the stock tires? Also, should I keep the wheels at 20 or go with an 18?
by doing a level kit and adding bigger tires (possibly), will I need to have the speedometer recalibrated?
any input is appreciated. Thanks!

If you're going to be putting a 3" leveling kit, you'll have no issues fitting a 33" tire. You can probably fit a 33" tire without a level (275/60/20 is a 33" tire size). That being said, most level kits max out at 2.5". Usually 3" kits are referring to as lifts as they require additional components as you are changing the geometry of the suspension quite a bit. I'm in the process of putting a 2" level kit on my 2020 F150 (Fox kit) and will be putting 275/65/20 tires on it (it's a 34" tire). To answer your question about recalibrating the speedometer, yes you'll need to have it recalibrated when you change the size of your tires. The dealership can do that or Forscan can. As for if a 33" tire is going to be ok or too aggressive, your 275/55/20 tire is 31.9" tall so it's just an additional inch of sidewall in the tire. You can get aggressive tread or non-aggressive tread in that 275/60/20 size, just depends on what tire you end up going with.
Whatever option you decide to go with, good luck!

thabks for the info! Luckily I found someone that could help me out with everything. Ended up with a 2.25 inch level kit and 33” tires. One downfall is the front right tire rubs on the mud flap when I’m backing up and have the wheel turned sharper. But that’s minor and overall happy with what I went with!
