Boring subject I know, but are there ANY black lugnuts that DON'T rust after the first tire rotation? McGuards are junk and Gorilla are not much better. I love the Zinc but with a Gunmetal wheel coming that's not going to fly. What's the opinion.
hmmm, can you find any wheel sockets that have some kind of liner on the inside to not mar the finish and start the rust process?
Or like GM products they have a plastic lug nut cover that looks like a lug nut - get black covers for the actual lugs?
Ive never looked for either item, just spit balling

One thing that I'll point out: Rust is not the worst thing that can happen to a nut/bolt. I have used a number of stainless bolt/nut pairs on boats destined for sal****er, and have had the honor of angle grinding 1/2" stainless bolts apart because no amount of torque and Kroil was gonna loosen them. Stainless steel can and eventually WILL gall if held tight enough against stainless steel, and carbon steel is much less likely to do so. Rusted carbon steel bolts are no fun, but compared to galled on stainless-on-stainless nut/bolt, they are easy to remove. All that to say that coatings on the exterior for cosmetic purposes aren't just a cheap way out, they are also more practical.
EDIT: apparently "salt water" is offensive without the space.

What is you experience with McGards being junk?

I recently installed these Gorilla lug nuts. Pretty happy with the finish so far. As far as corrosion goes, maybe dab on a little (emphasis little) copper antiseize to ensure they dont oxidize (even some on the conical seat). Wonder if the material of the stud affects corrosion as well. Swapping to some chrome moly or similar studs may help prevent that.
