Default in desperate need of advice

hi, i just installed a new exhaust system on my truck and it exits in front of the rear tire. the problem im having is keeping that wheel clean it seems to keep getting some sort of buildup or corosion on it. i really have to polish it to get it clean simply washing doesnt get it off. i was wondering if there is any kind of protectant to put on my wheels that might help keep it clean? im bout to spray the thing with PAM! haha just kidding. the wheels are chrome. would painted wheels be easier to clean or should i just stick with the chrome? i really like the side exit exhaust look but im beginnin to regret having it done now. almost tempted to have it ran out the back or dumped. just a lot of extra money i dont want to spend right now. any suggestions would be helpful.

I've heard of this happening and from what I've read, there aren't any solutions. That build-up is just the exhaust "debris" and you'll keep seeing it as long as the exhaust is where it is. I like the look of the side exhaust too!!

thanks, do you think its corroding the chrome or is it just a kind of carbon build up?
