Another Offset Question

First, I could have sworn that I was a member of this F-150 forum previously, but I guess not. LOL! I've owned numerous F-150's over the years, with my current one being a 2005 Super Cab FX4 with a 2.5" HBS leveling kit.
I have been researching tires for a while now, and have seen lots of references indicating that a 295/70/18 tire will not rub if used with the factory wheel (18 X 7.5 and +44 offset, I believe). I have pretty much decided on the Cooper ST Maxx. I am considering a certain model of Pro Comp wheel that is 18 X 9 with a 0 offset and 5" backspacing. Will this neutral offset induce rubbing? I'm pretty sure that this model is not offered in a positive offset.
Thanks!

By my figuring, a 19MM offset on the 9" wheel puts me back to stock backspacing. Then 10MM less to account for my new tire being wider than the old one. So, 9MM offset to put the inside of the tire where it was before. Is that correct? I understand that there is a balance in play, with suspension contact with too much offset and fender contact with too little. Obviously I cannot try various wheel combinations, so I'm hoping that someone here already has a similar set-up that I can base mine off of.
Why even use the term "offset" when "backspacing" is essentially the same thing and easier to understand and picture?
