Default Aftermarket Rims and Tires Info

Hey guys, new to joining the site but have been secretly reading everyone else's comments and info for months now! Just looking for some info on rims and tires since i know next to nothing about the subject. I have a 2011 F150 FX4 with a levelling kit and I'm looking to get some more aggressive tires and aftermarket rims, was thinking of going with the Nitto Trail Grapplers but I can't decide if I should get 18's or 20's. Wondering what the real difference is size wise and if its that noticeable? I know obviously the 20's will be more expensive especially since Im going to be buying rims also but i don't want to save a buck by getting 18s and be angry with how they look. Lastly if anyone has any other recommendations on tires Im all ears since I really only know about 6 tire manufacturers haha!
thanks
J

I am in the opposite situation, I have 20 inch wheels (stock FX4) but I am considering going down to an 18" or 17" wheel, I always understood that in a true off road situation more rubber is better than more wheel. The over all size is dependent on the tire itself not the wheel size. As far as tires themselves I am still looking as I have never run anything other than stock and a few AT's on my trucks in the past.

^^^ I agree. I just got a new wheel/tire package and went with 18s. I like having more sidewall and there are some local shops that can't even dismount a 20" tire which would make things difficult it went that route.

Depending on the size you want 18 and 20 inch tires will cost about the same honestly. In 20s you can get a P275/60R20 which would be 33" tall and still be light weight and have lower rolling resistance but almost any 18 taller than 32" is going to be LT metric.

im also going from the factory 20s to another size, hence my dilemma. The 20's look good but Im afraid to see the price for new 20s and rims. Ill check out the size and look of the 275/60R20s though, Thanks for the help so far!
