Default 20in VS 18in

have 17in currently looking to go aftermarket shops say 20 would be better. have 2" leveling kit on front of 2009 f150. looking to run the equvalent of a 33" tire or close without having to cut into wheel well. any ideas?

18" tires are cheaper than 20's and you get more sidewall rubber ..

This one reason I'm contemplating going from 20's to 18's on my truck. I already dinged one wheel hitting a curb with the piece crap 20" Perelli's that came stock on it. Who puts Perelli's as stock tires on a 4x4 Screw, that's just stupid. Almost got stuck the first time I pulled off into some sand with them, lucky I know how to drive in the stuff and had 4wd. The tires didn't do good at all in sand.

Can we get some more input here on 18's vs 20's please. Personally I like the look of more tire than wheel so I think that's why the 18" tire is the way to go for me. Looking for some more opinions though. Anybody actually made the switch from 20's to 18's???

I was having the same dilemma, choosing 18 or 20. But I ended up going with 20" KMC XD Addicts with a Nitto Grappler 275/55/20 tires. I like bigger rims and I like bigger tires, with this setup I get the best of both. I don't go off roading or anything like that plus this setup fits with a stock suspension. I will be adding a 2" AutoSpring lift up front just to level out the truck though.

I have the 20" optional wheels and I'm looking at 18" wheels. I think just looks wrong with so little sidewall on a truck. I'm almost set on Fuel Kranks with BFG Rugged Terrains (275/70-18 or 33") or BFG AT KO in the same size. I don't really go offroad much other than to get to riding spots with my dirt bike so really agressive offroad tires aren't a must and I drive mostly on roads.
