what kind of speakers do I need on 2018 F150 STX?
So in my '18 STX I want to basically replace everything.
I have multiple subs and amps from previous trucks that I have had, but I don't know what size and how many speakers to get.

Crutchfield was 100% no help when I called and asked them about the stock speaker size. That being said, the front doors are 6"x9" and the rear doors are 6.5". You can get adapters to fix a 6.5" in the front doors. The rear doors will not house a 6.5" speaker without somesort of adapter, though. You can use the stock speaker mount by cutting out the old speaker and re-using the speaker ring and mount. I will try to find a video to make that easier to understand.

Ok to add to this question
So I am in the same boat. '18 STX and the speakers will suffice for now but not very long (they're bad... coming from a shaker system im Sure isn't the greatest either but...).
I don't need a full on SYSTEM... I don't want a boxed sub. I was thinking more along the lines of the Kenwood sub that fits under the front passenger seat.
but in regards to speakers. Would it be possible to run a 6x9 component system (or 6.5) in the front, and then get some 6.5 coaxials for the rear? Also, keeping my stock head unit.

YES! you can get the adapters from crutch field, including the 6.5 adapter for the front. Infinity Kappa's work well with the stock head unit, anything that is high efficiency (92+)
Don't waste money on the centre channel speaker if you have one, not worth it.

I was looking at JBL-GTO609C system for the front, and then GTO939 for the back. I am keeping stock head unit but I do have an amp for speakers and another amp for subs, so I am not worried about power too much.

I am a little confused. You say rear doors are 6.5" then say they will not house 6.5" without an adapter. What actually fits on the front/back?

6.5 rear
both front and rear require an adapter (metra) or you can modify the stock speakers to make them an adapter, but will destroy the stock speakers in the process.
