Default Upgrade 4" sync to 8" sync 2013

I have a question. I’ve searched and can’t find any post bout this.
I own a 2013 150. It has the 4” sync screen and I’m thinking bout upgrading it to the 8” sync. Has anybody here taken this on and done it themselves. If so, how hard was it and which upgrade (brand or company) did you go with? TIA

Don't waste your time with the 8" MFT. My worth it. Go 8" aftermarket.

Go aftermarket for sure if you're gonna do full system. If not, I have an 8" mft with nav that I was gonna list on ebay.

Is MFT, My Ford Touch? I don't know if the sync 1, 4" screen comes with MFT or not but mine is just bottom of the rung unit with the radio, CD player, shows temp and with bluetooth so tells when I have a text message or tells me to shut it off to save the battery....lol. Couple of the places I've looked at em was OEM Upgrades & 4DTech. Thinkin bout upgrading to add carplay but not Navigation cuz I could get that from my phone.

Yes, MFT is My ford touch. Still think you're better off going aftermarket.

Ok Rocky what are you considering an aftermarket system?

Anything you can buy on crutchfield (don't have to buy there) is aftermarket.

Upgrading your factory system to the "better" factory system is not worth it, especially through any of the kits from "stores". You can find some on ebay but you would still need to replace your hvac control faceplate with something. It isn't as easy as just swapping when you have the basic.

Get the MFT1 install kit, Idatalink maestro rr and any Maestro ready headunit (Kenwood, Pioneer, Stinger, Alpine) and you're done. It's plug and play at that point and gives room for expansion.

The MFT1 is only for those that already have the 8" screen. The OP has the 4" screen and needs a different kit.

Same premise though. Buy a kit, harness, head unit and be done.
