I do not recommend the Pioneer TS-G6845R speakers, I had them installed for less than 2 days before pulling them back out and returning them. The factory speakers sound better than they did, guess that's what I get for trying to go cheap

Seems I went with the right ones then.

Same here. The Sony was in the truck when I bought it. Rather embarrassing sound quality for something that probably added $1000 to original sticker.

I'm not too familiar with what all is included, but I imagine you can pull a lot of its components and sell them. While the quality isn't there for you, I imagine someone would scoop them up as I'm sure it's better than a lot of stock equipment (I like to hope.)

Quick update: Speakers are still going strong, I haven't experienced any issues and it's been a year now. $80 well spent.

Thanks for this. Just ordered the exact same speakers for the doors in My 2010 FX4 and was wondering how they sounded. So thanks for the video . Wasn't looking for overwhelming bass just to add to the low end of the spectrum so I ordered the SO powered sub and found out after the fact that the same company that makes the RF stuff makes this for Crutchfield as well so I'm hoping for good things.
I will say that the more I get into this again Im actually considering replacing the factory head unit with a big touchscreen unit and relocating the SO to my wife's Escape and going with an amp and behind the seat Kicker enclosure so we will see.
Thanks again for this post even though its older and happy to hear that the RFs hold up and were so cheap. Makes me feel better about ordering cheaper speakers.
By the way where in SC are ya? I'm in Darlington.

No problem - glad it helped. I really have no complaints about them.

That's good to know about the Powered Sub - I'd looked into doing this as well, just for a bit of extra bump, but got into doing the camera installs and changing some appearance things.

I also want to get a new head unit that plays DVD's, but I'm doing the STX digital to LCD speedometer cluster swap and am wondering about compatibility when I also have to change out the steering wheel buttons on the left side.

I'm actually not in SC anymore, but I was in Charleston. Beautiful, but BUSY.

Ferd,
Gotta say I hooked up the door speakers this past weekend and holy bejesus these things sound nice. Way better than the factory. Got the power RCA Cable and remote on wires run to the area under my jump seat in the back but ran out of daylight to crack open the dash to splice in the PAC line converter So that's this weekend.
If the little powered sub I got is half as good ill be jacked. To be honest to have under 300 in the whole sound system to this point and have it sound this good is amazing. Next step will probably be a head unit replacement with the Maestro setup to retain all my sync functions.

They are nice little inexpensive speakers. I use to go with more popular brands of things, but been trying to lesser known and it's proven to be worth it.

Let me know how the sub sounds, I have what I believe is a basic stereo, it has sync, but don't know that it has RCA hook ups in the back for a sub.

Ferd,
The sub is just, holy hell, insane. I have the super cab so not a huge amount of space to fill with sound. I went with the Sound Ordnance B-8PTD powered sub. Now i will be honest and say I was a little dubious on this one. I had read some mixed reviews on it but I know Crutchfield stands behind what they sell so I figured the worst I would be out of is some time if it did spaz out on me.
It is by no means a bone shattering bass machine but for making a difference in the sound it is doing an amazing job. I have it on almost the lowest setting and it is still booming out. I will say its a bit tinny sounding but I have also seen people say you need to give them a week or two to get broken in before making a judgement so we shall see.
The fact that its made by the same co that makes the RF speakers is a plus as well.
Been looking at head units because the factory has that stupid cutout in it once you get over half volume that basically kills the bass and mids from the door speakers. I figure with a new head unit and maestro I can remove that and also get more power to the door speakers and also have the sub preamp outputs which will make it sound all the better.
