Default Small subwoofer choice help

So my 2004 Lariat was treated to new door speakers (unknown type and power as of right now) and a Kenwood DDX3728T double din with backup camera by the previous owner.

The main problem I have is that the sound quality is really tinny and there's almost no bass, even with the "Loudness" turned on and equalizer all the way up.

What I'm wanting is a small subwoofer/amp setup. I'm looking small, no larger than 10" and something preferably shallow mount so that I can put it under the back seat.

I don't want to rattle anything loose, but I want it to more sound like a good quality OE system. My in-laws have a new XC90 with a B&O system in it and it sounds friggin amazing but I know their products are WAY out of my price range.

I'm going to pull the door panels and see what speakers I'm working with there but what do you audio heads recommend for a decent mid-range price setup that won't sound like I'm letting everyone else hear my music?

where are you trying to put the subwoofer? I think that helps narrow down the subwoofer options.

Sounds like the Kicker Hideaway might be just right. I love mine.

Yep. Under seat.

Kicker hideaway, huh? What's a decent amp to put with it? How about if I wanted to run the amp to the interior speakers as well (if I find they can handle it)?

The kicker hideaway is a powered subwoofer, meaning it is one small enclosure which contains an 8" sub and 150w RMS amp. Puts out a lot of power for how big it is.

Supercrew sound makes nice, OEM clean looking boxes for underseat mounting and are pretty reasonable priced, and then you can get whatever size woofers you can fit / want / budget allows.

Think it's about page 26 to 28 of my build thread....

https://www.f150forum.com/f78/franch...68879/index26/

My system isn't jaw dropping loud but tight and clean overall and can barely tell it's there with only the edge of the box showing and blends right in with the seat.
