Default Quick crossover hookup question(JL Audio c5)

Double checking to be sure- 2014 XLT.

using as a component speaker tweeter in the pillar ....

I have the door panel off and all trim off so no problems there-

manual shows the crossover, 2 wires in from amplifier, then 2 out to speaker then, 2 out to tweeter. My HU ( Alpine has the Amp built in ).

so do i take the two speaker wires re-rout to crossover then go from crossover to speaker then disconnect ford tweeter and run a new wire through the pillar into the crossover ??

Crossover will have in - mid - twt or something along those lines. Speaker wire from amp or head unit goes to in. Mid and tweet should be self explanatory.

Thanks-That would mean running new speaker wire into the door from the crossover ...

and tapping into the OEM speaker wire already installed. with only one way from the door into the cab being blocked by a molex plug how is that possible-.

Ok Trying to figure this out so I can get this done in the AM

Trace and tap into the speaker wire coming from the HU Into crossover

Add new speaker wire from new tweeter inside pillar and down by floor board Into crossover

Drill side of molex plug to run new wire into door Out to floor board Into crossover

Any tricks or is there an esier way.

The wire is under the dash. You don't have to run new wire. Use the factory wires. Unless you're running some insane amount of power it will handle it just fine.

You're way overthinking this.
Radio - wire - crossover input
Crossover - mid use factory wire. Can be found under passenger side and driver side dash. Just find a wiring diagram. Same color wire under the dash as in the door to the speaker.
Crossover - tweeter
Just run a new wire from crossover to the tweeter since the factory ones have a factory plug and don't require cutting.

Thanks-. ok think i got it..

Trace and find factory speaker wire under the dash. cut it then run to crossover-. use the other cut end(speaker wire)and run to crossover.
finally add new wire from new tweeter to crossover-

that it...

I have the MFT with no Sony. So my tweeter splits off the woofer wire in the dash. When I installed my JL components I fead the crossover from the tweeter connection in the dash that made it easier to place the crossover and it required a short wire up to the A-pillar for the tweeter and a short one to the woofer in the door.
