Default Pioneer Avic8200NEX or Alpine X009-FD2

I have a Ford F150 XLT supercrew, which I took out the 4.2 screen and installed a k150, maestro rr, pioneer avic8200nex (from my minivan). I was shopping around for a new double din nav unit, and found the Alpine X009-FD2 on Crutchfield.com. I like the 9" screen, better sound quality, made for the 2013-14 F150s. The only downfall is the price tag. With the avic 8200nex, it works, have a capacitive 6.95 screen, sound quality is good. Should I jump on the alpine X009-FD2 or should I stick with the k150, avic8200nex? any opinions would be appreciated.

All depnds on your budget. Most on the forum feel that the Alpine is too many $$

I agree with you. after thinking long and hard on the X009-FD2, I decided that the cost is the main factor in not going for the x009-fd2. I will stick with k150, maestro rr, and Pioneer Avic8200nex. I can use the money elsewhere. Thank you for your opinion.

i'm curious as to what led you to believe the alpine unit has "better sound quality"?

I don't know, i figured it's an alpine, it should have better sound quality. That is my own opinion.

gotcha. from my experience i have always found pioneer units to be superior to alpine, especially for the last 5-10 years. i have had more of each brand than i could count with the majority of them running active, and the alpines always lose, especially the imprint add-on. that was the biggest piece of processing crap i have ever used.
