Default Oem sub vs. kicker hideaway

I’m looking for a cost effective and simple way to add bass to my 2015 xlt screw.
The Oem sub from Ford is $550 or so: https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...SABEgIVSvD_BwE

The kicker hideaway sub is about $250 and is a self powered 8” sub that will also fit behind the rear seat.

Which do you think sounds better or is the better option?
Thanks

I have the OEM Ford Kicker Sub, to be honest it's not worth the money. I think the Kicker Hideway is a good option, or something similar but cheaper than the Ford OEM Sub.

I’m skeptical of self powered subs, but kicker is a good brand and above average reviews on the hideaway.
Rockford Fosgate also makes a product but not sure it fits behind the rear seats.
I don’t need door rattling bass, but I want a decent low end... I wonder if the kicker can do that?
Oem sub is expensive and overpriced for what it is, however it’s plug and play so that is attractive.
I just wonder if anyone on here has ever heard the kicker hideaway vs oem since the kicker is half the price

for $250 you could easily buy an 8" sub and a pre-made sealed enclosure and an amp and get better performance. this is by no means what i thik you should exclusively buy, just the results from spending about 2 minutes on their site.

sub and enclosure - $95 - https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...S-SWX2002.html

amp - $99 - https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...-MRV-M250.html

wiring kit - $20 - https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...-Kit-SSK8.html

total - $215

Thanks, I’ve consider this... not many sub box’s fit behind the rear seat without modifications.
I am also looking for a simple install, and to be honest I have never heard of that brand before but Kicker is a well known brand. I’m sure there are decent brands with comparable pricing, but still not sure I need a true 8” sub or want to deal with that wiring install.

yes, I'm whoring my system. But it's literally 1 power wire to the battery, ground wire behind the seat, and tapping the rear speaker. boom, done.

In all seriousness, even if it's not mine, Go aftermarket. OEM isn't worth the price tag

this will be a problem with anything you buy other than the oem solution, which in most people's opinions isn't worth the cost.

you never heard of pioneer? really?

i have installed more than my fair share of systems ranging from the all-in-one sub/amp combos like the kicker hideaway to 12+ sub configurations for competitions and showing off. i have never, and i mean never, heard a single all-in-one solution that was worth the cost or time for installation. i could get better low end response from some quality 6.5" or even 6x9 in the doors if the doors are treated properly and the speakers are amp'd and tuned right.

you still have to run power and signal lines to whatever you install so you aren't saving any time in that respect.

-edit-

FWIW the sub/enclosure i linked is 5.5" deep. not sure how that plays into the area behind the rear seats as i have a scab.

Oh the link wasn’t to a pioneer product? I of course have heard of them it looked like some off brand product.
But pioneer does make a low profile 10” that some people have liked a lot

Has anyone with the OEM kicker sub tried swapping the sub for a different sub and reusing the enclousure?
