Thanks for the reply’s. I told the person that wanted to trade that I was going to pass.

I’ll be using an old school Orion XTR10001 amp I’ve had for years. 500w @ 2ohm and 1k @ 1ohm. It’s been a great amp and always performs well.

I’ve been eyeing that FoxAcoustic Dual 10” box. It’s got 2.15 cuft of space. I have kids and don’t want forward firing subs because they will kick them. I’m thinking of adding the 10-8 adapter rings. I figure if the 8’s don’t perform to my liking in the larger enclosure, I can grab some better 8’s or even go to 10’s that will.

Anyone have any other recommendations as I’ve got some time before I make any final decisions.

I've had good luck with Orion back in the day. Had a HCCA275 at 1ohm on two RF HX2 15's.

To add some closure in decisions. I’ve ordered and received the Single 10” Fox ported box. I’m going to be using the single 10” alpine sub I already have as well as the Orion amp. I picked up a kicker keyloc, amp install kit, extended wiring harness from plugnplay (rolling the dice and hoping it’s good to go), Polk audio 6x9’s and needed mounting hardware. I had a set of polk 6.5’s that I never put in my tundra that will go in the f150.

this is turning into more of a project than I anticipated. Wish me luck.

Hi Everyone.. Circling back around to this. I came across a great deal on a JL Audio 10W3V3-2 as well as a Kicker CompVX 44CVX102. Would either of these be a worthwhile upgrade over my Alpine Type-R SWR-1041D? I have no experience with JL subs and my only experience with Kicker is my 8" CompRT's. Any input is appreciated.

How big is the enclosure? Sealed? What amp? Either of those would work fine.

The box is a Single 10" ported FoxAcoustics with 1.4 cuft airspace tuned at 35hz. i have an Orion XTR10001 amp I’ve had for years. 500w @ 2ohm and 1k @ 1ohm.

I guess the question is... Are they an upgrade worth spending money on when I already have the Type R SWR-1041D on hand?

I don't know if you'd see huge gains per 'se. If the Alpine isn't blown, and sounds good to you. No need to waste money.

Now if you wanted change, then both woofers you mention would be great replacements.
