AFAIK all cameras use a coaxial composite video signal/cable that terminates in an RCA type plug. The color of the insulation on the connector is yellow. The Kenwood head unit has a female yellow connector on it. I just tapped the existing composite video line in my truck for the factory rear camera. Then I bought a Kenwood camera for the front.

The factory cam uses a coaxial wire to the cab where it splits to 2 wires to go thru the connector then back to coaxial. The outer shield of the coaxial is ground. I don't know if the factory camera uses the shield as the power ground but there is probably a separate wire. The factory camera is powered up with the truck so it is always on.
The Kenwood camera has power, ground and the RCA. I connected it so it is powered with the truck like the factory. I can view either while driving.

I was however able to easily install my oem style backup cam, from The Camera Source. As well, as run the wires up into the cab under the dash!
Saving the HU for this weekend!

If I wanted to wire my 892 so I could watch a dvd while in motion. Would I just ground the Green wire from the 892 harness to a ground?
