Need Opinions...Foxbox or Atrend for 05 SCrew?
I am about to buy a sub box for my 05 crew. I am debating between the foxbox and the Atrend. I am going to use some oldschool JL audio 10w6's which list the mounting depth at 4.75 inches. The foxbox has plenty of depth, and the atrend lists 5.5", but it seems some think it might be less.
I can get the Atrend for 70 shipped......or 180 shipped for the Foxbox, and I have read some stories about fox shipping and customer service being a little slow.
Any thoughts? is the Fox worth the extra? They both look fine to me....I am talking about any sound difference or enough quality to justify another 110 bucks for someone just adding a little bass to his truck?

are you talking about foxacoustics? I e-mailed them a question yesterday about the box I ordered and had a response withing 3-4 hours with very good information in it...
In my case (2010 SCAB), the foxacoustics was less for me since I was comparing it to the MTX thunderform single 10" vs single 10"...
My recommendation would be to check with both, see how their response times are, pick a sub that you like and ask them about that specific mounting. I found that the newer Alpine Type-Rs may fit in the foxacoustics box, but to check on the spacing of the magnet on the back... so I ordered the box, will go to a local dealer and check depth before buying the sub.

Ya I was referring to the Fox acoustics. It looks the nicest by far, but if i were going for the best looking I would buy the console box that one of the members on here makes for like $450.
I know the fox has a deeper box, but I plan on using the JL audio Wx series.....which will fit fine. I just kinda wonder if its really worth the extra.

I can't speak to their quality... when I get mine I'll post here and let you know. The Atrends look really nice, though I don't know how I feel about the giant beveled logo on the front of them... part of what I want out of a sub box is to be "hidden"... not to announce itself in any way other than volume.
Anyways... I imagine mine will show up in a week or so if you can hold out.

The atrend is a decent box for the money, Fox's is better built, but his depth is the killer feature.
Are you getting W6s or Wxs? I would pass on the Wxs if you haven't bought them yet. I don't think a W6 will fit even with fox's deep box.

Havent bought either yet......but the Wx's looked decent for someone not looking for anything crazy. Thw W6's I found are the old skool w6.....the originals, not the newer stuff. They list the mounting depth at 4.75"
I plan on running my subs with another oldskool piece.....PPI PC2100 I been saving. That should provide enough power for a couple tens.
On a side note.....I can buy 3 w6;s from this guy. I have considered trying to make an under seat enclosure for 3 10w6's, but I figured I would need the seat lift kit and a lot of time to get it right. Any thoughts?

The PC2100 only puts out 100W RMS bridged, maybe 125 cause it's rated at 12V. That's not a lot of power for a sub with sensitivity in the mid 80s.
