Yeah, I searched through all menus of the kenwood again and was unable to find anything that seemed to pertain to the parking brake over-ride. 12V guy says the maestro is capable of doing the over-ride, so it must be accessible in there somewhere. I just can't seem to figure out how.
Its peeving me not being able to fully enjoy this marvelous system, and I have a long road trip coming up very soon. So later today or tomorrow, I will probably end up disassembling the dash and doing the manual over-ride like you mentioned. I have the floor shift model, so it'll take a bit more effort than if I had steering column shift. But Ty1 led me to a video that references how to remove the console relatively easily.
Thanks for the info.

Ok, with the hep from a couple members of this forum I now have full functionality of my new system and I'm straight up stoked.
If you have the floor shift model this video was extremely helpful in seeing how to take apart the dash. Thanks to Ty1 for referring me to the video.
7mm and 8mm sockets are all you need to dismantle the dash, and do the install.
To eliminate the need for the parking brake on kenwood head units to be engaged for the stereo to show video playback, I tied the parking brake wire (lime green) to the ground wire (black).
Thanks again to all the posters who helped me out, and to 12V guy and Idatalink for making an incredibly awesome product.

I had best buy do the install for me, so I don't have any pics of the install process. I did take one of the dismantled dash from when I grounded the parking brake wire earlier today. The other pics are obviously of the finished product after I reassembled everything. Sorry the truck is kinda dirty.
Thanks again for the pics!!!!

Sorry folks, should have mentioned the menu is in a special place. You can see how to get to it here: YouTube
Many thanks for the video, I'm sure its going to help a lot of people save some time and effort not having to wire up a bypass.
You guys seem to have thought of everything with this maestro system. Great job!!!
