Unhappy Nav radios

Yea, I've seen the same thing with trying to add a backup camera. They (Ford) just don't like to accommodate upgrades easily. Frustrating!!

Talked to Alpine on 11 March 2014. Was told June is when their X line 9" will be out.

Please tell me that's not going to be the actual retail price. If it is, Advent better step up their game and get their product released. $2,500 for a replacement stereo is just stupid expensive. That better include door speakers, subwoofer w/box, two amps, and all necessary wiring.

Yeah I can get under that price with a processor (Alpine or Rockford), Kappa doors and tweeters, two amps (or one 5-channel), sub with enclosure, wiring, and a custom installed tablet between the console and dash for GPS and apps. Might even be able to add some Dynomat.

Default 2012 advent problem

I installed the advent unit about a year ago. Mostly I like it. However when I use line in or blue tooth audio I have a problem with the passenger side speaker dropping out. I have checked every connection that I could find including the sync module and can't figure it out. It only happens with line in or blue tooth only and corrects itself when I hit pot holes. I have eliminated all other sources like xm and radio, it only happens with blue tooth and line in.

I am hoping some one tech savy could help me figure out the problem. I also have had no luck programing the sd card to bypass the agreement message on the navigation.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Or you using the SYNC line in or the Advent line in. I'm pretty sure the radio let's you use the Ford line in/USB or use the Advent inputs. Try switching to the other line in input and see if the problem still exists. That wouldn't help with the Bluetooth situation though. It definitely sounds like a loose wire. Did you check the connections with the radio playing? Wiggle a wire while it's playing and see if the speakers come in. Just looking at connections doesn't tell you if the individual wires are actually making contact within the plugs. That's why I suggest moving the wires a bit with the radio playing and the problem present. If nothing external to the Advent make the speakers come in, it might be internal and require warranty service. Have you tried putting the factory radio back in and see if it shows the problem. If it doesn't exist with the factory radio, I'd say the problem is the Advent.

Default Bump

Bump. Any updates from anyone on ADVENT? Are they still in the game? I'm getting tired of looking at my little screen in the XLT and kicking myself for not upgrading to the FX Off Road model!!

I've got to really comment on this. From your wording it truly sounds as if you believe that FoMoCo does not cooperate with aftermarket companies. Are you saying that or are you saying when it just comes to radios? I'd like you to clarify this..
