Fox Acoustics Subbox 2009-2014 F-150
Just got my box in from Fox Acoustics. Ordered it September 17, and got in in today. I don't have my subs in yet but those should be awesome. Alpine SWR-10D4's wired to 1 ohm at 1600 watts on Hifonics Brutus 1600.1D. The construction on this box looks amazing. It is sealed well on all corners, and on the cap. Tons of internal bracing. The terminals did not come installed but that took just a few seconds to install. So far I love it. it does raise the 60% bench seat up a little(as pictured) but nothing terrible. Will report back when I get subs installed.

I have had the Foxbox for about 2 months now with 2 Memphis 10's and I dare not crank it up still haha. Excellent quality build and was shipped to my door in 1 week of my order. Many compliments as well so good choice! Hope you enjoy it!

Here are the subs right before install! Jesus these things are loud. I'm in love. Blow my other subs out of the water. It's hard to imagine these at full power, I only have 1600 watts going to them and it's headache inducing. I'm waiting on them to break in but I'm afraid of them blowing cause I keep getting smell off of them. They have just a tad more excursion than the space allows for because they do hit the bottom of the truck floor. Overall I love the setup.

Chances are if you are getting the smelly smell after a few more days(break in is somewhat of a myth, I never break in, just **** from the start), you are most likely clipping the sub.
Clipping the sub can be caused by a few things but I'm certain it is one of these two: distortion from the signal or low voltage during high volume.
You might want to hit up a local shop that has a SMD DD-1 to tune your amp, not sure of any shop there though that is trust worthy. Here is a map with a few guys in AL that have the DD-1 and various other tools though, http://www.easymapmaker.com/map/07b8...33b0458f8ba311
If it is low voltage, you can just take a DMM and place the leads on the Hot and Ground sides of the amp, and check the voltage while it is playing. If you dip much below 12.6, look into a "Big 3" upgrade and possibly a beefier front battery. I know those Hifonics amps are fairly inefficient, I could almost bet you are pulling 150 amps or more at full tilt, if not closer to 200 amps.
