So I am guessing no more updates in regards to this build. Haha

pretty local to the DFW car audio scene, and I haven't heard anything about a martinez guy doing anything big in f150's. F150's suck dick on the meter, and running dual alts is a PITA compared to chebbys.

streetassassin switched subs to Tantric HDD's though, heard it a few weeks back at Heatwave in Austin, hurts a lot more than it did with the AB XFL's.

my 06 is getting close to 800w on the front doors and a pair of 8's under the seat, for cruising and junk... my CRX is getting 2 18's, 2 2k's, tuned low as **** to demo ALLL day though. F150 is the tow rig.

I'm looking to go somewhat big in my 2010 platinum and I have 2 questions. What is the biggest amp you can run on the stock system with a cap? What is the biggest bang for buck enclosure to slide in the back with the seats up? I was thinking a couple of 15s or 4 12s but I wanna be able to slide the box out of if I want to have passengers. Not looking to win any spl contests. I was thinking a jackhammer or two and some kicker subs. I'm old school so I'm not familiar with new brands. One thing I always hated was getting a 2 ohlm stable amp and it cuts off after an hour or two.

Thanks

Make a box that can only take up the single side seat and mirror that on the drivers side.
I would look hard at the stereo integrity SQL 15's or SQL 12's.

Your statement of "not looking to win any SPL contests" and what you are asking are contradictory though...

What is your stock alternator? I know 2011+ use a stock 240 amp, not sure about 2010s though. Simple math puts this at Power = Voltage * Current or Power =12v *240a = 2880 watts RMS. Take away some for the truck operations and you should be good at 2000w RMS. Now this does mean you would actually need to use 2000w rms. Most never even come close even if they say they have 5000w rms because they never listen that often at 100% volume and anything besides subs will never use an amps RMS with music (A song never has 0db tones in it outside of the very low frequencies, and even then it is rare).

I just read this entire thread and he fell off the face of the earth? WTH?

Not a baller like some of you guys but I'm currently getting a Sundown Audio Zv5 2K 12" DVC in a custom down firing box with an Sundown Audio SFB-3000D on each coil. Should give me more than I've been trying to get with these under seat boxes. The actual seat section of the 40 backseat has been removed so the box will be about window height still allowing two people to ride in the back. Also throwing a Titan 8+ in and will upgrade the alternator if need be. I'll see how this pans out and improvise as needed.

Thank you for your response. It's looking like I'm settling in a couple of skar 18s in 2 boxes. I can fit them in the back. At this point I was seriously considering getting one of their rp amps and running it at 2 ohlms to combat heat and shutting down. So you think i can get a 2kish rp amp, run it at 2 ohlms at 1500 watts or so and feed the 18s with little effect from the electrical system?

Thanks again
