Chimes no longer going through speakers after aftermarket stereo install
#21
Did you guys ever figure this out? I joined just to follow this thread. I have a 2017 F250 6.7L with non-Sony Sync. I have had an amp hooked up for the 2 10's I put in there right after I bought it. This weekend I upgraded the front components to some Infinity Kappa Perfect 600's and installed a Kenwood 2x200 amp behind the dash. I just grabbed the high level signal right out of the stock Sync harness a ran it into my Kenwood. Sound is amazing and there's zero noise or distortion, but I just noticed I have no door or backup chimes in the stereo now. Only in the IPC.
What's weird, I hooked up the left components first and I know I still heard the door chimes. I just wanted to make sure my amp install went as planned. Everything checked out so I went to work on the right side. I didnt notice the chimes not playing then, but I wasnt really paying attention. Backing up after lunch today I noticed it played through the dash, really odd. Anyone figure anything out?

For anyone who is brought here by Google, here is what fixed this for me this morning.
I jumped into Forscan, went to the ACM AS-Built module and changed the value of 727-01-01-XXXX-1XXX-XXXX (my default vaule) to the value of "D". This disables front/rear speaker detection on the F150. The amp being inline with the setup may or may not cause a disruption in this open/close circuit check so by disabling it I believe that the ACM will default to sending the chime/backup sounds to the door speakers again.

Thanks for sending this one.
I got so tired of IPC speaker, I actually removed my Alpine power pack last week. Even after reverting back to stock and restoring my Forscan changes, I still had the chimes going through the IPC. I removed the negative terminal from the battery for 15 mins and even after putting it back on still had the chimes going through the IPC. The next day it came back and have the chimes through my speakers.
I may give your change a try, but I also was annoyed by the fake engine sound and the sync touch tones being so loud when using the Alpine. Does anyone know how to adjust those?

Going through the same issues after my install, not only do my chimes not go through the speakers, but now my front passenger side speakers have no output. Almost certain that it's the headunit. Anyone else have found a fix?

I am also am have an issue. I have one speaker that is out today and the chimes are through a speaker in the dash (I guess you guys are calling it an IPC). Any more thoughts?

Thought I would chime in here...pun intended😜. Just dealt with this issue. I had a sub box and amp put in the truck by one of the popular car stereo stores Basically, what I surmise is the the truck is not sensing that there are speakers and therefore reverts back to the IPC. The fix here was to put what I can only describe as a capacitor on each speaker line in the wire harness just before the connector that plugs in to the back of the factory stereo unit. This gives the sense that there is a load (speaker) present and therefore sends the signal back to the computer and send the chimes to the door speakers. So far back up and door chimes are working through the door speakers again. Will update if this was only a temporary thing. Good luck.
