This is where I ran it.

I cut a small X in the rubber grommet. Then with some...personal lubricant...I snaked the wire through the X. down the passenger side of the dash and under the door sill. Up the passenger B-pillar (I'm in a SuperCab) and across to my amp.

That's where I ran mine just last night. It's a giant pain too. Make sure you use a large knife so you'll cut the front and the back. I spend a good 20 minutes trying to snake the coat hanger thru without realizing the grommet is hollow and you have to cut both sides. Finally yanked the thing out with a pair of channel locks and worked for another 30 minutes or so trying to get the other side cut. Finally just went a got my trusty12" Rambo survival knife and stabbed it thru. Then I was able to work the wire thru and then taped it to the coat hanger.

With the grommet out, I found it a lot easier to snake the coat hanger down behind everything.

I worked 12 hours yesterday on this thing and only got both doors done and the amp power wire ran. I've been playing with car audio nearly 30 years and his by far has been the most time consuming project yet.

I use the screw together Stinger firewall grommets. They're cheap on Sonic Electronix and open up a world of possibilities on getting large gauge wire into the cab.
