Default Amp Wiring Question

hey everyone, got a question about amps and what not, here it is:

I already have an amp for my subs with all the wires and everything hooked up, im wanting to add another amp for my door speakers. can I just tap into the power wire from amp 1 and run it to amp 2 or will I need a distribution block?? its ran with an 8 gauge wire..

Preferably get a distro block for power and either get another ground distro block or ground em separately. You can use the same remote turn on and tie them together. Also, with an 8g power wire you might wanna upgrade to a 4 if your running two amps depending on how much power you are needing, you might be giving your amps enough juice.

sweet man I just wanted another opinion, I plan on getting a 4 ga wire and a distro block then running my 8ga wire to the two amps. and grounding seperatly. just wanted to make sure the distribution block was nessacary.

Go to walmart for the dual amp add on wiring kit. It's 20 bucks for the block, another power wire, another ground wire, and something else, seems like a good deal to me

I use a dist block for both my power and grounds.

I would suggest using a relay for the remote turn on lead from your deck. I have seen those leads go bad from tapping too many things off of it.

I didn't use a relay and it's fine, even if it does go bad you could always run it to an ACC fuse in the fuse box...
