I messed up and only gave it 1/4” of excursion past the surround. By the time I realized the glue was already set. I’ve got the box flipped over and upfiring under the seat, even with someone sitting on it you don’t hear any issues with the sub. This thing gets LOW. I’m debating if I want to try again or just break down and pay the $140 to Fox Acoustics and call it a day. They say their baffle to floor clearance is 1.75” without a seat lift. Important thing is it fits. Lol. I’ll get pics and video at some point and upload them.
Get the Fox Box and down fire it like it should be.....

Sorry y’all, kinda went MIA everything’s been hectic over here lately. Right now I’ve got it firing up and the seat raised because I started noticing it was hitting the actual foam of the seat. I need to order the Fox Box, but I need a paycheck or two to come in first. If I had gone through and actually done a fiberglass back plate instead of putting MDF on it, it would upfire with no issues, but raising it 3/4” towards the seat while up firing doesn’t work.

Also, my door panels rattle now so sound treatment is in order. This sub is ridiculous. I’m hoping to get pics and videos up this weekend.

Time to eat some crow... it doesn't fit. I MIGHT be able to remove the block I attached to the top (now the bottom because I didn't get the proper spacing from the bottom of the box to the bottom of the feet) and fiberglass it, but I doubt it. I took better measurements and followed the curve of the seat better, it'll be in the seat pretty good, and I don't think the seat will fit down over the required hump very well. You can see in the picture how far the sub itself will stick through the box, not good.

I am thinking through setup number 4 (stock, pioneer behind seat, then this one) I'm debating between dual Sundown SD3's, dual TW3's, single of each, or going all out. The all out option is converting the rear to captains chairs with a console in the middle with two full depth subs (looking at Sundown SA's). That's obviously the most expensive option, so I'm leaning more towards the dual option. There's a few boxes I can get that are ported and fit under the rear seat, although a custom one painted to match the exterior would be better. A Sundown SD3 JUST fits under the rear seat, it's a shallow mount but still 4.5" deep. They don't recommend porting them, and I'm not sure if I want another Sundown. This one isn't great for country music which is what I typically listen to. On my Garth Brooks stuff there's virtually NO response from the sub.

Any of these options are out a ways as I am buying a house and close October 3rd so all my extra cash is being diverted that way. Maybe around December I'll be going with setup 4. Other downfall of going with duals, I'll need about double the size of amp that I'm currently running (500W RMS at 2 ohm).

For sure. That drawing is downfiring, but the back of the sub would have to protrude from the top of the box. Whatever I go with next will be downfiring. I've now ran forward firing, up firing, and next will be down firing. The house I was in contract on I backed out of, so this is getting put on an indefinite hold, for now at least. I may have a moment of weakness before the end of the year and pull the trigger on a setup though. I have an idea in mind for my box, I'll just have to find the right shop to do it for the right price. I already know it'll be expensive.
