Default 2015 w/ sony - disabling factory EQ curve w/ factory amp

So I asked this in the 2015+ FORScan thread and didn't get a response. I've searched all over on here and haven't found a solid answer. I have a 2015 Lariat SuperCrew with Sony sound. What I'm doing is replacing the factory door speakers and just using the factory Sony amp to power them. Can I disable the frequency roll-off in the factory sound processing while retaining the factory Sony amp? Let me break down what I did in FORScan to make sure I'm understanding this correctly:

ACM
727-01-01 - Changes factory outputs to low level. I DON'T want to do this as I'm not adding an aftermarket amp.

727-01-02 - Flattens the factory EQ. I DO want to do this to eliminate frequency roll-off and clipping at higher volumes. However, when I went to change this it was already to set to the "new" values (00xx).

APIM
7D0-01-01 - Disables Sony sound processor. I DON'T want to do this as I lose the ability to adjust treble, mid, and bass with the factory amp. Also, for some reason the volume level indicator went away.

Is that right? Even though the values for flattening the EQ are set up right, it still sounds to me like like clipping is being introduced at higher volumes. Am I missing something here, or is it not even possible without completely disabling everything?

Disappointing to hear that string didn't flatten the eq on the sony system. I guess something like the DSR1 is the only way to go then.

Default You can

Sorry, I know this is an old thread,. but I just ran across it. You can flatten the eq curve on a Sony system, but you have to do it in the DSP module. The other codes only work on the apim/radio outputs, to effect a Sony system, you have to manipulate the DSP or SONY module. I am currently running JL C5s off of the factory Sony amp, with a 10" running off of the sub wires through a JL LoC 22. It sounds great, but I had to lower the midrange and bass controls on the head unit because after flattening the DSP all kinds of mid and bass is coming out of the door speakers. I assume flatting the DSP, gets rid of the factory crossover settings etc. I really noticed it in the rear door speakers the most. Ive tried all sorts of products, JBL MS8, DQ 61, etc. but now this is the best it has sounded thanks to Forscan. Although, now is the time to add a DSP etc, but I think I'm just getting to old to care anymore......

I dont know why anyone would go through the trouble of the forscan method when there are a number of OEM sony integration modules that completely bypass the sony amp altogether and eliminate the need for any of these changes.

Rockford DSR1

PAC Amp Pro

Forscan didn't cost me anything to do it that way and now, instead of spending $300 on something to just bypass the sony system, I can save that money and invest it in a better DSP like the Helix dsp.3 when it is released. It also allows you to remove the factory amp (one of the options you mentioned does and one doesn't IIRC) which, I believe, is behind the rear seats on the 2015+ trucks.

Things I did while my neighbor was trying to get his DSR1 to connect via blutooth to set-up his Mustang. Removed DSP EQ with Forscan, installed sub, cut grass, mulched flower beds, installed new receiver in home theater, washed golf cart, grilled burgers and drank beer. lol.

Not saying that those modules aren't great (I wish they had been around a few years ago), forscan is by far the easiest thing to do if you just want a simple decent sounding stereo. I will probably eventually go back to using a DSP active up front, as I have a disease called caraudioism., and the new products around are way better than the old way of trying to shape that Sony output into something bearable.

Either way, once you realize that car audio is a disease, it's easier to live with. Ever notice how those with the best sounding audio systems are the ones constantly making changes? I think the12Volt, these forums, etc. are more like support groups for addicts such as myself than anything else. Also, for me part of the fun of audio is building the system. It's like complicated, expensive legos that you can build into a masterpiece, then tear it all down to try to build something better.
