Default 2018 Lariat Non B&O - add Sub

After searching on this forum, I'm still a little confused on what I need and what I need to do in order to add a sub. I see a bunch of people responding that there are better and less expensive options than trying to add the factory sub. From what I am reading it looks like the factory wiring adapter to the back door pillar is missing some of the wires on the 2018 that would allow me to use it to power a sub and get radio signal for the sub. What are my sub and amp or powered sub options that I should go with. For now I'm just looking to add a sub and might replace the door speakers in the future but no plans of that yet.
This is what I have:
2018 Lariat 8" screen, non B&O so no factory sub, with NAV, Auto Start/Stop
I do have FORSCAN

Pull the left rear C-Pillar trim and see if you have the plug sitting on the bottom. If you have the plug you can use Forscan to enable the sub output from the ACM. If there is no plug then you can just use a Line Out Convertor and tap the front speakers for signal. The rear speakers are not full range signal, this is why you should tap the front speakers.

What GP-SE said....Forscan OBD tool is only $30 or cheaper on Amazon. Takes a while for the forum admins to approve your account but it's pretty neat to play with once approved. You can change more than just audio stuff with it. Just keep in mind that if you use the OEM factory sub wiring you'll be limited on power to the sub. Just don't think you can power a few subs or massive one with this connection.

Just wondering what you came up with for your truck? I'm in the same position as you are in 2018 Lariat, non b&o, 2.7L start/stop. I don't think my c pillar in the back has the harness, everything I read said my package (501A) wouldn't include it. Looking for a nice, compact, ready to install sub.

It's not very difficult to splice the front or rear door speaker wires for the signal. You then run them to a powered enclosure for the easiest install. Let me know if you are interested in any of the JL powered sub enclosures via PM. I've helped quite a few here on the forum for great pricing on all sorts of parts. Just let me know what you want and I'll send you a quote.
