What a great installation guide. I'm sure I will refer to it several times when I start my amp upgrade. A couple of quick questions please:
- Does the Parrot wiring harness come with a good wiring diagram? I have some component speakers and a digital amp in the closet, so I will connect a little different than you did.
- How do you like the placement of your tweeters? I am planning to run active, so I was planning to put the tweeters in the stock location. If I run passive, I will need to buy a set of crossovers.
Thanks for your help, and a great guide.

I would have to install new tweeters in the stock pillar location. Mounted anywhere else in sight, would drive me crazy!!! OCD....

1Chad/Others,
Can you confirm how the stock tweeters are wired in stock form? I heard they are just wired in line from the same signal as the front door speakers.
What about the center speaker on top/center of the dash?

Here is what I have read about the center speaker in other models.
"In the non-Sony 9-speaker system the center speaker gets a simple L+R summed mono signal."
I would disconnect it

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for what color wire goes with what on the radio harness? Mainly would like to know what wire to use as a possible remote turn on for only when the radio is actually turned on. I know I can get out a voltmeter but not torn apart that far yet in the install. Just trying to get things figured out in advance.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The wiring harness does not come with a wiring diagram, however, part 1 of this post has a link to the "Speaker Wire Colors" which covers the 4 door speakers. I'm not 100% sure of the center speaker wire colors, but when looking at the harness plugs, they are the next pair in in line. Also, if you look closely at the individual wires on the Parrot harness, they have fine print that says which wire they are. i.e. "Right Front (+)"
I was very hesitant about the tweeter placement because my original goal minimal changes to the truck. Using those panels was a bit of a compromise, but as I mentioned in my post, I could easily replace them for little cost. What really put me over the edge was everything I read about those tweeters needing to be installed on axis pointing at the driver / passenger respectively. I don't think there is really a better location for them if you do want them on axis. They actually blend in really well right in the corner, and since I'm running them passive, it was probably the easiest option. I really like the way they sound, and everyone that hears them is impressed with how clean and balanced they are... So I'd do it the same way if I had to do it over.
