Just got my RPK4-FD2201 installed in my truck with a Pioneer AVH-X4500BT head unit.

Everything works (sorry I don't have rear defrost to check) except for the VR voice SWC control.

Anyone else had this issue?

I've gotta find a high pitch ground noise too. Doesn't change volume with audio, just steady, on every source, goes away when HU put into off mode.

Wondering if the old unit has just gone bad...

I have a 4200 NEX no high pitched noise issues. Both voice and steering wheel controls are working fine. I recall someone earlier with a Pioneer having issues and they had their steering wheel controls plugged into the mic connection by mistake as they look the same.

I haven't been around here for a while now..i made the jump to the FTR1 with the idatalink maestro and dumped the Scoche kit that i had to keep pulling the 7.5amp fuse once a week to get the AC controls back.. Man what a difference in over all quality and back to my OEM HVAC controls.. I also love how you can have each button assigned how ever you want. You can even press and hold the buttons for different assigned functions while retaining the original single button press..works like a champ.

i just ordered the Maestro for my 15. I didn’t like the digital HVAC controls of the Metra and too many issues i saw with the PAC unit. Glad this unit is well received. Pairing it with a kenwood DDX375BT.

you're gonna dig it... flashing the maestro was a PITA on windows 10 so be prepared for that. But the end result is great.. My opinion is to not flash in Sync. You'll have to pair sync to your phone even if your phone is already connected to the radio's bluetooth. And if you dont connect Sync you'll keep getting a no phone connected pop up message on the radio.. FTR1 w/ Kenwood DNX995S here on my end. I do miss the clock and temperature on the scosche 4" screen though.

ok well my phone and my wife’s are already paired to sync so just keep it that way and connect to the new headset Bluetooth as well? And by not flash in Sync do you mean when it comes to setting up the module? Also i hate windows ten already with a passion so i guess now i know it will be a pain ahead of time i can try and not get as frustrated! Lol

When you "flash" the maestro i'd suggest to not use the Ford Sync option. uncheck Sync before flashing. You can just use the hands free stuff built into the radio already. The only thing i lose by not flashing ford sync is the USB input under my center console sliding door. But it doesn't matter because you get 2 USB inputs in the pocket with the FTR1.. I did however run a mini usb extension to the maestro to the disabled USB port so if i ever want to reflash Maestro and change my buttons for some reason,I dont have to remove everything to get to the maestro

Ok cool. Thanks for the info. It ended up arriving today. So I’ll try and program it tonight and start install this weekend.
