Default 2012 F150 Lariat with Sony Nav system

I want to upgrade the stereo system. After a lot of searching, I still cant find the answer to my question. Does this system have component or coax speakers? Trying to figure out what to buy. Thanx in advance.

I think all the new F150s have the tweeters in the front pillars. They would be component.

Good idea. You will notice a big improvement by doing that.

Any recommendations on which pieces to use for replacing the speakers and sub in these trucks?
I just bought a 12 SCREW with Nav and I'm looking for just a little bit more out of the system but I want to retain the headunit and all of its functionality that goes along with it. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Had? What do you have now? Why'd you go away from kickers? I'm reading all the ideas here, but I'm really looking for a good write up and review of an install that highlights the pieces used and the results afterwards.
