Every photo I see of these aftermarket bezels, the head unit and surround trim piece are inset from the radio bezel by a good centimeter. It's not flush. Does this happen because the surround piece is slightly too large for the double din opening? Or is it because the head unit mounting bracket holes are not in the right place?
Is it possible to get the head unit and surround trim piece FLUSH with the radio bezel? Would extra holes need to be drilled in the HU mounting brackets or something?
Here's an example what I'm talking about:

This thread talks about how the Scosche version of this bezel is a true double din, whereas the Metra bezel is larger than a double din and requires the trim piece.
Metra on the left, Scosche on the right:
I want the Scosche bezel because it looks 1000000X better than the Metra, but am having no luck finding it. I can only find the one for the Platinum but not the XLT/STX (pictured), on Scosches website. Did they discontinue it or something?

The Scosche FD1438B is the part number. But WHY does it state it's only for 2009-2012 XL's? The 2013 and 2014 STX's have the exact same bezel configuration. I'm going to order it for my 2013 STX.
