Default 2005 RingRanch factory sub buzzing

Hi everyone,

I try to replace the factory headunit, but I still want to use factory subwoofer. I bought the harness adapter for the subwoofer but I have an buzzing sound from the sub.

If I remove the headunit and just give 5v or 12v on the remote of the sub, it just starts tu buzz. Even without an connected chinch audio source!

Has anyone an idea? Has the "shield" pin something to do with this issue? The harness adapter doesn't connet the shield pin by the way!

Okay, got the solution.

Connect shield with ground and the noise is gone!

You have to take a piece of wire and wrap it around the shield portion of the RCA jack and then ground that to the chassis, there are videos on Youtube explaining it better.

Found a video that may help
Good luck!
