I assume you are referring to the actual carpet under the box and not the rear cabin pad? If so, I didn't cut the carpet, however did remove the insulation layer so the box would sit flat on the floor. I was able to fold the carpet under the seat which is completely reversible (aesthetic-wise).

Great build - do you happen to have the color code for the sony amp wiring harness? I'm about to get started on my 2015 Platinum. Also - did you run new speaker wire if so how did you tackle the molex connectors? And one last question where did you go through the firewall for the power? I haven't had time to inspect my truck yet but I'll be looking for a way to get 1/0 through.

The stock speaker wiring is more than sufficient. Changing it out is a lot of unneeded work.

Mass Effect
Very nice install! I like the wire management. Thats always my weakest point because Im lazy and impatient.....mostly lazy though.
JL Audio is all mainstream now and all the cool kids have it but they really are an excellent product. Their subs and amps are among the best on the market. Theyre one of the few companies left from the old days that didnt get bought up by some big conglomeration that totally hollowed them out and ruined them like PPI, MB Quart, Polk Audio, Orion and so on.
Ive been a fan since the 90's. The golden age of car audio where the Kicker demo car had PPI amps because all they made were subs.

I'm not comfortable running 150W RMS through the factory wiring. That and I would get a decent drop off in power - so I will be using 14 AWG. My setup will be a 2 way active on a 150x4

Wouldn't be noticeable as the wire runs are so short. Either way, Molex connectors are a ....goodluck!
