Got the Kicker Comp RT 10, swapped .... The Kicker, hits alot better than the crummy RF sub I had.

The Kicker sounds 10x better, so glad I decided to get the Kicker. Almost went with a higher level RF sub instead!

Happy, happy, happy...

I have 2" of cleareance from the subs rubber surround, to the back of the seat! More than plenty...

That was with the seat latched, in the up position...

Yes, cutting the pad is a Must! I placed my box against it, traced, and cut with a razor knife.

No need to cut the bottom carpeting.

Tech, was surprised too.. As I used it to get the Music & Remote Turn On Signal to my amp. Service buddy, said to swing back by tommorrow, to let him know if it worked, as I didn't have my Amp yet. He wanted to know for future reference, and for future customers! Service Tech, double checked after turning ignition off, that it stayed Enabled. Since, there wasn't a Sub connected yet! He said sometimes the vehicle will Unenable the option(new to me)? But, it didn't...

I cut a piece of 1x10x9 plywood, wrapped in carpet (to avoid any rattels), then screwed the amp down to the plywood, through the oem carpet padding!

So far, it works great, and I'm happy with the Much needed Bass addition...
Nice thread, looks like a good setup.

I'm planning to add a 12" sub (if it'll fit, mounting depth is 5.75") and I think a max 800W amp I can't remember for sure as it's still in my other truck.

My question is about the factory sub harness. Are you using it for remote/turn-on and for audio signals? or did you tap the rear speakers.

I'd prefer to use the OEM harness and just turn it on with ForScan or something. If that's possible without having to mess with the OEM speakers. At least until I decide to replace them.

Thanks

My truck details are in my sig.

I am using OEM with Rockford but want to get a bigger sub. Someone installed 2 12" behind the seat but never cared to share dimensions
