Yollanda the Ford Gal
Hello everyone! I'm a Montana Ford Gal from forever ago. LoL! I love Fords! I've had F 150's, Explorers, and Expeditions. I like the Expeditions the best...not a car, but not a truck either. I'm not real knowledgeable of the motors, just what my husband has taught me, and what I've experienced myself. I currently have a 2007 Expedition with 5.4 V8.... which personally, I find it to be lacking and weak. I did have a 1998 Expedition that I should have kept. I found that the 98 definitely had more weight, and more power. This 07 seems to be light and low power. I even got it stuck the first month I had it, which totally bummed me out. One thing that I've had to deal with is the aluminum heads. I've had misfiring and had two spark plugs that broke off and had to be redone.
My question is... Can anyone advise me as to when the Expedition is at it's best???? I've been searching for a 1997- 2001. Please Help! I realize the older, the more miles. Yet, not if I find one that has had the motor or tranny rebuilt.

If only....lol! Would love to have a 2019. Not with our budget. I am searching for a 95-01 Expedition, or around a 08-10. I hear that the 2002-2007 have the problem of blowing a spark plug, or a two piece plug. I'm not brilliant when it comes to knowing a whole lot about motors, but I am doing my homework. LoL!!! Lucky for me I like to read. I think the one thing I like about the older models is the fact they seem a little heavier, and a little tougher. Got my 07 stuck in the first cpl of weeks I had it. My 98 wouldn't, and didn't get stuck one time while I had her. Always love to hear advice.... others have input that I value. Thanx for yours.
