New owner here from Montreal, Canada. I had originally posted in the forums asking about the STX. Turns out the Stx trim doesn't come with power windows or remote keyless entry....soooo I had to go up to an Xlt to have what I consider standard in a 2014.
So far I've been liking the truck. Switched from a '13 Focus with the dreaded DCT transmission issues. Obviously this one consumes more gas but having the liberty of going to the hardware store and getting anything in whatever size I want sort of makes up for it.
As far as the gas consumption goes I took her for a round trip to Niagara from Montreal and we averaged 10.5L/100km (Computer showed 11 but my gas bill and kilometers traveled proved slightly different). Now I use this truck to commute to work - Mostly highway, some traffic on the way. I keep her at a steady 70 Km/h (yes I drive slow) - that being said; will an 87 Economy make a noticeable difference in consumption?
